The Exhibition preparation and Inauguration
Nearly 12:30 AM and I am just off the phone after talking to Milap, we were thanking each other and appreciating the way the exhibition inauguration and day panned out. Here goes.. (phew, excuse me if I bore you guys!)

Milap reached the place where the frames were ready and after loading them, reached the exhibition venue early (at 12ish). Meanwhile, Vivekbhai and Dr DJM were already there and had started arranging the layout of the frames. To our dismay, we found that there were no hooks for the frames, but it wasn't a worry, the person who had done the framing started showing us a hammer, and after ensuring that it wasn't meant to bash anyones heads in, we decided to go with his suggestion. So, he started putting in some little nails in the frames - and they went in perfectly with the wall (your frames aren't damaged group, don't worry ;) ). So, while that task was underway, we started hanging them as and when they were done. The sequence was again, courtesy of our guides.
I left the venue for home, had to freshen up and so forth, came back about 3ish, and found that the venue was in the dark, literally. The tubelights had an odd habit of turning on after 10 minutes. The caretaker attributes it to some ghost (maybe he was just trying to explain the many mysteries of life). Well, the frames were all set, however the name tags were still left out. Milap decided we didn't have the time to stick all of those, however I decided that we could, as did Ashit, and what followed was a huge RUSH! Name tags cut out from the sheets swiftly as could be (chickoo doing the cutting), getting fevibond on our hands, and rushing here and there all over the large venue affixing name tags to the photographs we could identify. Some pics were left out, but I aim to fix that tomorrow :) . Anyone who could help was assigned the task, and we finished just before the inauguration.

Madhavan (editor of Better Photography) cut the ribbon and we all poured in. Most of the guests were eyeing the foodstuff by food garage, but manners prevailed, and they decided to go watch the exhibition before having some snacks! There was quite a large turnout, and I met many new and old PCA members (Names later!). He checked out all the photographs in detail. We also had some feedback forms that were being filled in by attendees.

Exhibition Antics :
After the inauguration, Vinay presented us with a slideshow/video where we saw many of the participants of the exhibition. It was very well made. Chickoo, Ashish and Prakash were constantly clicking photographs (along with so many others), there were quite a few media personnel as well. There were a lot of people checking out and appreciating the photographs, the atmosphere was totally enthusiastic.

There was someone who didn't like post processing in images, and I got Devansh and Urvish to talk to him (they're post processing experts!). There was this particular image by Dr DJM that stood out, no one could figure out what or why it was. DJ himself stated he didn't know what he'd done to make it look that way (kidding folks, it is a superb frame) - quite a few people stood and talked about it.

Most photographs were truly appreciated and visitors spent time looking at the frames and choosing which they liked and commented on those. I will share the comments with the group after compiling the feedback forms :) .

One moment that truly stood out for me was when some old person who had seen the exhibition approached me and said that this was one of the best exhibitions he had seen. He proceeded to explain why. He said that no frames were placed haphazardly, everything was in order. The selection was top notch, and there wasn't anything lacking, either in effort or the art. He really liked the work of the group. Vivekbhai was standing nearby, I informed the old gentleman that Vivekbhai and Deepak were instrumental in making this exhibition a huge success. Not to leave out Ketan, who has been very helpful from the very beginning.

Mr Barodia had also called from Mumbai and expressed his warmest and best wishes for the success of the exhibition and passed on his regards to everyone in the PCA. It was really nice hearing from him.

People :
When I reached the venue early on, there was quite a rush, Milap, Paren, Mukeshbhai, Jigar, Mahipal were already there and helping Deepak and Vivekbhai with the framing process. In the meantime, Param reached the place and we both had to rush off to get a cutter and some tape. Param thought he was a pilot, and I reminded him that we were on the streets of Ahmedabad (where cows grow out of the ground, and kids leap into your path from thin air), well, he decreased his speed to something like what a formula 1 Driver would experience. Eventually, we got the tapes and were involved in attaching the numbers beside the frames. Kunal dropped by as I was leaving for a bit, and Dewang had also reached the venue pretty early.

Come 3 PM and there was already a huge crowd in the venue. All the work was done, apart from the name tags, which turned out to be a huge rush as mentioned above. Anyone who I spotted was drafted voluntarily or involuntarily. I can only remember Isha, Chickoo, Mahipal, Paren, Jagriti , Kunal and Ashish in that hectic time. Great work fellows (and if I miss anyone out, its not deliberate).

Dr Prakash was busy clicking, and I teased him quite a bit, hats off to him for having such a great enthusiastic spirit. Mahipal as well, he decided that he would rather attend the exhibition than marry (er... or was it something else??), but we were very happy to see him there. On that point, I counted several occasions where I found Mukeshbhai in front of his photographs (and btw, he's also posed for the camera with his pics - so we have proof!).

I met up with a few new members and I'm sure they were glad to have been part of the PCA as well.

I will end this article with some necessary notes (of thanks again :) ) . Its grown too long! There was so much more, however..

Milap, Paren, Dewang, Ashit, Vivekbhai, Dr DJM, Ketan - all the guidance and support.
Alok, Jigar, Param, Prakash, Urvish, Ashish, Chickooo, Nishant, Hibru, Isha, Jagriti, Neha, Vinay, Chandni, Devansh, Niyati, Anar, Shweta, Gayatri, Renu, Avani, Mahipal, Abhijit, DR DJM ke friends, Sweta, Meghna, Shilpa, Trupti and Roshni for attending and helping. I must have missed out so many more names, so please do accept my apologies, all credit where credit is due :) .

To end this first update, as Milap would say
"Bhukka Kadhi Nakhya" (blown to bits - a rough translation... however - what, why and who is not ever specified :) ). That's all folks!
