Welcome to the PCA!

Hello friends,

Our site - http://www.thepca.com is now complete in all aspects, and rounded off. So what's new there???

A HUGE LOT!
.. let me go through it all one by one

We have our own web forum finally! keeping track of messages and such was never easier. You can have your profiles etc, and the main thing is that you can separate the threads by topic. Easy enough eh? Since photography all the time is pretty boring, you're allowed to post whatever you want (for what you can't post, check out the rules! :p )

Next - A gallery which is integrated into the site. So then, whenever we have our monthly/fortnightly theme or other event whose photographs need to be uploaded, this is the easiest way out. Of course - there are ratings and comments, so its easy enough for everyone to vote!

Then.. We have an events calendar which will keep track of meetings, themes, exhibitions and all other events. It looks good, btw!

Next - a weblinks directory, where you can submit your portfolio links on flickr/pbase/imagestation or, you can share any interesting links that you find. If you need more categories, tell me, and they'll be added (it needs some expansion anyway!)
edit : (I think though, that the portfolios could be better shifted to the PCA section in the forums, suggestions please - try posting on the website to get used to it as well!).

I believe the site is self-explanatory, and one won't have any problems navigating it. However, I shall create a help file soon - that explains some of the usage nuances of the forum and gallery.

Its taken me a lot of hard work finishing up the whole thing (with a lot of help from the owner of www.javapipe.com), and I'd really love to see the PCA members take advantage of the site. Please do spread the good word! Also, I'd appreciate any suggestions as well as inputs. Thanks for all the support and hope to see everyone on site very soon, lets make it a very active community!

PS : first of all, you'll need to sign in with a unique username and password (not the yahoo one). That one login will be used for the gallery, the forum and the main site (submitting weblinks, news, polls etc)

PPS : Any submissions - for articles/news are more than welcome, so if anyone wishes to help out in that aspect, do email or call me. Thanks.

Final Update!

Well friends,

Thanks for the patience. I think we're all set! All that needs doing is adding the topics to the forum, and we're all good to go. Registered users can log in via the menu on the left, and if you've not already registered, please create a new id (yahoo id's won't work here). The time taken for the integration has made sure that the gallery and the forum work seamlessly.

I'd like to thank everyone for their support. If there are any suggestions - any at all, please do use the contacts page to email me, or call me on my number, and I'll make sure to implement it if its worthwhile (and easy :p ) .  Finally, I'll create a help page describing usage of the various sections very soon (though, they're really self-explanatory), excuse the delay, since I'm kept busy. To sum it up, you can use the forum for just about any discussion (just let me set up the topics first!), use the links section to add interesting links, and your portfolios etc etc. Due to space considerations, I think we'll use the gallery for the themes/contests etc, where voting is required, however, if anyone wishes to put some pictures up on the pca gallery, they're welcome too! Use the events calendar to submit any event/competition/theme or other date.

Hope to hear from everyone with comments and suggestions. My regards and thanks for all your support and lets have some registrations and usage of the forum from now on!

PS the gallery will not integrate perfectly with the main theme due to the bridging, however its a minor detail, and will not affect the functionality in any way!
